For investors.

Most of the useful AI being built in the next few years won't live inside a megamodel. It'll live next to private data. We're building the platform for it.

What we're building

A Resident is a small AI trained on a single dataset for a single job. You own it. You can version it, test it, and ship it wherever your data already lives, whether that's a laptop, a private cloud, or an air-gapped lab.

It isn't a wrapper around someone else's model. It's a model of your own — one you can open up, retrain, and take with you.

Why now

Two things shifted in the last eighteen months. Training a small, specialist model has gotten roughly an order of magnitude cheaper. And the institutions sitting on the most valuable data — hospitals, law firms, regulated labs, defence — increasingly can't send it to a third-party API, even if they want to.

So the interesting work is moving to the edge: closer to the data, away from the giant general-purpose models.

Where we are

We're early. The core architecture is in place, and the first Residents are already running in private. No outside customers yet.

The round

Pre-seed.

We're looking for investors who can back something early — people who've done it before, who can sit through a slow first year, and who say yes when most are still asking questions.
